Celebrating Marriage

Sunday 12th February

  • What do you think of marriage?
  • Are you happily married and ready to celebrate the fact?
  • Are you looking for an excuse to return to the church and town where your married life began?
  • Are you at that stage in your relationship where you and your partner may be starting to think about what marriage is all about and what it might be like to be married in church?

If you’ve answered ‘YES’ to any of the above then

BAPTISMS AT ST MEUGAN

Baptism is the first step in our journey of following Jesus -and we’d like to continue to be a part of it!

This Church was founded in c400AD by St. Meugan (otherwise known in South Wales as Maughan and in Cornwall as Mwgan). Physician to the Roman General Vortigern.

The present building dates from the 15th century. Notable features include its oak screen, memorials and the remains of a 15th century churchyard cross which is a scheduled ancient monument.

The Rector of Llanrhydd is also Warden of Christ's Hospital and incumbent of Ruthin. Llanrhydd has its own Parochial Church Council and Churchwardens, but has no independent organisations. These are shared with the parish of Ruthin.

From the Square in Ruthin proceed down Well Street, At the “Anchor” inn, turn right then immediately left into Llanrhydd Street.  Continue for about half a mile and then take the left fork into a country lane. Continue for another half mile and the church is on your right.

There are no bus routes to St. Meugan’s but it is a pleasant two mile walk from Ruthin following the directions above. There are buses to Ruthin from Rhyl, Denbigh, Mold, Wrexham and Corwen Details of bus times can be found on the Traveline Cymru website.

There is a Mother's Union branch at St Peter's Church, two Bible Study groups, one of which uses the notes from the Bible Reading Fellowship and a Sewing Guild shared with the parish of Ruthin.
