BAPTISM/CHRISTENINGS, WEDDINGS & FUNERALS

Baptism & Christenings Baptism and Christening are two names for the same thing.  It is the initiation ceremony into the Church and can be administered to a person of any age. Where the person baptised is an adult, he or she makes some promises about the Christian faith. Where the person baptised is a child,  parents and godparents make these promises on behalf of the child and promise to bring him/her up as a Christian.  If you would like to enquire about Baptism for yourself or your child please click here to send an e-mail to make an appointment to see the Rector.  Baptisms usually take place during the main Sunday worship. There is no fee for Baptism/Christening.
Wedding Services Wedding services can be arranged provided both the church and state  legal requirements are met.  Please note that either the bride or the groom should be resident in the parish where the wedding is to take place. Initially please click here to send an e-mail to make an appointment with the Rector to discuss the arrangements.   The current fee for a wedding service is £357.50. This includes music and the provision of one marriage certificate.  The fee may vary according to requirements.   A deposit of £25 is required.
Funeral Services Funeral services can be arranged in any of the three churches.  Initially you should contact a funeral director who will make all the arrangements for you and will contact the Rector to request a church service. The Rector will then contact you and arrange to discuss the service with you and the Church will provide you with help and support.  At Llanfwrog. where the church owns and administers the churchyard,  there remain a limited number of burial spaces for people residing in the parish. At Clocaenog and Cyffylliog the churchyards are owned and administered by the local authority.  The funeral director will advise you on this.  If cremation is requested  the Rector will travel to either Wrexham or Colwyn Bay to conduct a service at the crematorium, either with or without a service in church.  The current fee for a funeral service in church is £171 including music.  There is an additional fee (currently £184 plus £12 registration) for a burial in a church owned churchyard and in other churchyards and crematoria an additional fee is payable.  Church fees and all other fees will be included in the funeral director's account. For any further details of church funerals and help and support please click here to contact the Rector.
